Mandate The Committee's mandate is to examine legislation to ensure the implementation of human rights; it deals also with human rights aspect of the judiciary and issues opinions on amnesty or pardon applications and on the reports of the Prosecutor for the Defence of Human Rights.
Membership The Committee comprises eleven parliamentarians, designated by the Bureau of the Legislative Assembly.
Working methods The Assembly Bureau refers to the Committee the matters it has to examine. The Committee has the power to send for persons, papers and records. The Committee Secretary is duty bound to report on its work to the Assembly plenary three times a year.
